Job Title: Senior Lecturer, Indigenous Health

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Lecturer, Indigenous Health to join our team at the University of Wollongong. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in Indigenous Health within our Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the curriculum for Indigenous Health, ensuring alignment with the accreditation standards set by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for medical programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the GSM Academic Lead, Admissions and the MIHS Pre-Medicine Course Coordinator to recruit, select and support Indigenous students in the Pre-Medicine Course, for success in the MD program.
  • Develop and deliver teaching materials and resources for Indigenous Health, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments.
  • Conduct research related to Indigenous Health, including the development of research projects and the supervision of research students.
  • Contribute to the development of the University's Indigenous Health strategy and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant discipline or medical specialty qualification.
  • Experience or potential in teaching Indigenous health at a tertiary level.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous health issues in an Australian context.
  • Ability to build links and connections with the Indigenous community.
  • Enthusiasm for the advocacy and care for student learning.
  • Collegial teamwork approach, strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
