Data Center Technical Operations Specialist, Cloud Infrastructure Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technical Operations Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Cloud Infrastructure Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Management: Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern to ensure the availability and reliability of our data centers.
- Critical Systems Maintenance: Undertake and support management of both routine maintenance and emergency service of critical systems such as switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, fire systems, etc.
- Infrastructure Development: Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling.
- Vendor Management: On-site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports and documentation of all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance. Manage the facility's assets.
- Incident Management: Generate change management requests & incident management tickets for all facility related events (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering and services issues.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with data center IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate day to day operations, projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Project Development: Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability as well as assist in the design implementation, commissioning and build out of new data center facilities.
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience in facilities management, maintaining a data centre or other critical space facility.
- Communication Skills: Experience communicating technical concepts to resolve issues efficiently in a high pressure environment.
- Security Awareness: Experience with, awareness of, and adherence to physical security protocol.
