Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Engineer, DCO to join our team. As a key member of our Data Center Operations team, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining the servers and infrastructure in our data centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets related to Systems and Network hardware problems
- Linux server and XEN service virtualization troubleshooting and remediation
- Remediate physical layer outages on both Systems & Network
- Participate in Data Center power & cooling events - 24x7 On-Call requirements and shift rotations
- Install & configure racks in-line with internal SLAs
- Triage & resolve trouble tickets for all devices
- Physical replacement of server and network devices
- Define metrics to increase customer uptime
- Enforce Amazon's Security Best Practices
- Interact with third-party vendors & contractors
- Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency
- Participate in and deliver on local/regional/global projects
- Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates
- Contribute to building the world's largest Cloud infrastructure
This role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of IT infrastructure experience
- Basic understanding of data center facilities
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration and server Hardware Troubleshooting and hands-on experience
