Data Center IT Operations Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center IT Operations Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our AWS cloud.
Key Responsibilities- Escalation Point and Technical Troubleshooter: You will serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues and escalations, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
- Deep Diving into Linux Server Issues: You will have hands-on experience with Linux server troubleshooting and repair, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Remediation of Physical Layer Outages: You will be responsible for identifying and resolving physical layer outages, including systems and network issues, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Remediation or Recovery of Physical Power Issues: You will work on remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participate in data center power and cooling events to ensure optimal performance.
- Shift Work and Rotational Basis: You will work a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts, to ensure 24/7 coverage and support.
- Install and Configure Racks of Hosts: You will install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Triage and Resolve Trouble Tickets: You will triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Physical Replacement of Server and Network Device Parts: You will perform physical replacement of server and network device parts, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure remains up-to-date and running smoothly.
- Ensure Correct Rotation of Parts and Spares: You will ensure that parts and spares are properly rotated and maintained, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
- Enforce Amazon's Security Best Practices: You will enforce Amazon's security best practices, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure meets the highest standards of security and compliance.
- Interact with Third-Party Vendors and Contractors: You will interact with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is properly maintained and supported.
- Engage with Remote Hands and Eyes in EU Regional Cloudfront POPs: You will engage with remote hands and eyes in EU regional cloudfront POPs, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is properly supported and maintained.
- Participate in and Deliver on High-Impact Projects: You will participate in and deliver on high-impact projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Minimum Requirements- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of server hardware and components
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP, Supermicro) is a plus
