Human Resources Specialist, Workplace Relations and Performance

Our ideal candidate will have experience in HR areas: workplace relations, performance, and conduct.
Job Requirements:
• The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Section: Legal and Conduct
Responsibilities:
The role will involve, but not be limited to:
- Research and prepare advice on employment issues, workplace relations, legislation, and agreements.
- Contribute to designing and implementing strategies to improve departmental outcomes when managing complex sensitive people matters, staff engagement, and workplace consultation.
- Represent the department in dealings with unions and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of enterprise agreements, HR Policies, and employment contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, processes, and better practice.
- Support team initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture.
Stakeholder Relationships:
The role requires developing and maintaining productive stakeholder relationships, and assisting senior staff to effectively negotiate with key stakeholders.
Written Communication:
The role involves preparing written material including executive briefs, corporate documentation, findings of fact, and formal communications relating to employee conduct and performance.
Professional Advice:
Employees of DPS are required to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice.
