About the Role

Mercy Community Services is currently seeking a passionate Social Services Coordinator to join our Connected Families Team in Ipswich. This permanent full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide quality service delivery to children, young people, families, and the community.

The role is responsible for delivering high-quality support and case management services to highly vulnerable families within the Connected Families Service framework.

Salary: $85,126 - $91,588 per annum (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individualised plans that address their unique needs and goals.
  • Work closely with line managers and other stakeholders to identify client needs and deliver targeted services within available resources.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Support and empower clients through life and personal skill development opportunities, including role-modelling expected behaviours.
  • Engage family members to promote dignity and self-determination at all stages of family engagement.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Child Protection system.
  • Intermediate ability to use computer IT systems, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
