About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our Perth-based engineering consulting team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the WA team, driving business growth and development, and ensuring the effective provision of engineering consulting and compliance services to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the WA team, driving business growth and development.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market share and revenue growth.
  • Manage WA operations, including budget, profit & loss, human resource & facility management.
  • Ensure effective provision of end-to-end engineering consulting and compliance services to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, exhibitions, and conferences.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years experience in a technical sales role.
  • At least 3 years experience in a leadership role, preferably managing technical roles.
  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, operations management or related field (Essential).
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience with utilising management accounting, financial analysis and other reporting to inform decisions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, provide solutions and make decisions in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Superior computer literacy (Outlook, Word & Excel) and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Proven experience at developing and nurturing long-term client relationships.
  • Be personable and have well-developed communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Excellent negotiation skills and some experience with managing SLAs etc.
  • Willing and able to travel locally and interstate for conferences and exhibitions.
  • Have a positive can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and enjoy collaborating with professional peers.
  • Have own car and current driver's license.
  • Must have Australian working rights.
