The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a dedicated professional to contribute to the preservation of Indigenous culture and land rights.

This role involves creating and maintaining genealogical records, conducting targeted research, and documenting sacred sites and traditional ownership. As an expert in anthropology or related fields, you will work closely with senior anthropologists to update genealogical materials, prepare Land Information Releases, and engage respectfully with Aboriginal communities.

To be successful in this position, you will require a strong background in anthropology or related disciplines, with a degree in the field being highly desirable. Your skills in genealogical research, cultural documentation, and stakeholder collaboration will be essential in your success in this role. Additionally, your excellent communication and problem-solving abilities will enable you to work effectively with diverse teams.

In exchange for your dedication and expertise, the NLC offers a competitive salary of $81,716 per annum, plus 14.5% superannuation, as well as opportunities for professional development and career growth. You will also enjoy a range of benefits, including a district allowance, annual leave, leave loading, personal leave, paid Christmas close down, and an annual airfare after completing 12 months of service.
