The Role

As a Work Health Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner, you will act as a key support to the Head of Work Health and Safety, providing leadership and support to the wider business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with front-line leaders to identify and execute improvement initiatives to enhance our operational efficiency and safety standards.
  • Coordinating and actively participating in risk assessments to identify, control and mitigate workplace and operational hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Engaging with frontline staff to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and safety standards, promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
  • Leading investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes, implementing action plans and conducting thorough follow-up to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in safety, including incident reporting, investigation, annual audits and necessary actions to support our Front-Line Leaders.
  • Cultivating a positive safety culture by promoting awareness, safety engagement and accountability across all levels of the organisation.
  • Encouraging the reporting of safety concerns and suggestions for improvement, fostering an environment of continuous enhancement and improvement.
  • Utilising data to identify trends, measure safety performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with our senior leaders.
  • Preparing and delivering regular reports for Executives, highlighting key safety metrics and areas for improvement.

About You

  • You will have tertiary safety qualifications with relevant work experience in a related discipline.
  • You will have demonstrated successful experience in managing and leading teams operationally.
  • You will have extensive knowledge and experience managing a broad range of Health, Safety, and wellbeing responsibilities across a complex business with a mix of white- and blue-collar stakeholders.
  • You will have proven experience in developing and implementing process improvement and system optimisation strategies to deliver organisational compliance and efficiency.
  • You will be an operational safety leader with a customer focus and a strong sense of accountability.
