Role Overview:

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager will report directly to the Regional P&C Director and spearhead the Health & Safety team. This pivotal position is designed to equip our workforce with the necessary tools and resources to foster a secure working environment across our operational facilities and corporate headquarters. This role presents an exciting opportunity to delve into operational processes, identify potential hazards through analytical data and direct observation, develop and implement safety programs, and influence our leadership and employees to uphold a robust safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of health and safety professionals.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to align on project objectives and provide expert guidance across multiple sites.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to cultivate a proactive safety culture.
  • Utilize our health and safety platform effectively for tracking and reporting safety-related information.
  • Communicate the strategic roadmap of safety initiatives and provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Evaluate emergency response protocols and engage in crisis management as necessary.
  • Conduct audits of the Safety Management System and ensure corrective action plans are implemented.
  • Promote wellness initiatives, including mental health support.
  • Oversee the management of Workers Compensation claims and Employee Assistance Programs.
  • Manage the injury rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for affected employees.
  • Adopt a mindset of continuous improvement to identify opportunities and enhance health, safety, and wellbeing practices.

Success Metrics:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar capacity, managing a small team of health and safety experts.
  • Experience in environments that combine both office and operational settings.
  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Proven track record in implementing behavior-based safety models.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety legislation and Workers Compensation processes.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for identifying trends and crafting solutions.
  • Commitment to customer service and experience in a business partnership model.
  • Proficient in managing stakeholder relationships and leveraging influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
  • Capability to assess and measure the return on investment for Health & Safety initiatives.
