Reef tourism professionals with expertise in Master vessel operation are sought after by a leading tour operator.

Job Description

We operate daily cruises from Cairns to Fitzroy Island and Moore Reef on the Great Barrier Reef, offering an award-winning team providing glass bottom and semi-submersible boat tours, guided snorkelling interpretive tours, introductory and certified diving, seawalker helmet diving, and helicopter reef scenic flights. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of masterfully handling vessels with precision and professionalism.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring a consistently high standard of safety and service for passengers and crew, as well as supervising and leading a crew of 20-30 members. Collaborative work with our Head of Operations and Engineering is essential to maintain vessels to the highest standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Mate IV qualification
  • Experience in a similar role within the tourism industry
  • Associated MED certificates considered an advantage

A high level of grooming and presentation is expected, as you will be a role model for other staff and interact closely with our passengers. A 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adhere to company operating standards are essential.
