**About the Position**

The Communication, Engagement and Tourism group delivers strategic communications, community engagement, and tourism and events management across Redlands Coast. The group provides a diverse range of professional services including media and issues management, disaster communications, publications, digital media management including website, intranet, and social media, speeches, brand management, integrated marketing, graphic design, community engagement, community and council events, development of the city's tourism sector and promotion of Redlands Coast as a naturally wonderful tourism destination. Reporting to the General Manager Organisational Services, the Group Manager Communication Engagement and Tourism will lead a team of five direct reports across three business units - Media and Communications; Marketing, Digital and Design; and Tourism, Events and Engagement. The Group Manager role is an integral member of the senior leadership team at Redland City Council and is a strategic leadership position that drives communication, engagement and tourism outcomes for Redland City Council and Redlands Coast, with a focus on delivering the strategic goals set within Council's corporate plan.

**About the Person**

You are a proven people leader within the communications profession, and you bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role. You can inspire high performance and build capability and a collaborative culture within your team and across the organisation. You have strong communication, stakeholder engagement and management skills and operate at a strategic level to set and drive operational outcomes to ensure targets and goals are met. You also have analytical capacity and decisiveness in decision making and have demonstrated capability managing multiple stakeholders and multi-faceted projects that impact communities. An innovator and early adaptor to new technologies, you are well-versed in all things digital and can develop campaigns that drive brand outcomes. Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are preferred, and experience in a public sector environment will be highly regarded.
