About the Role

The Thales CMATS Technical Instructor plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering technical training activities for our users. This includes budgetary control, resourcing, and coordination, as well as ad-hoc training requests.

This position will focus on the technical training of our users across network, hardware, and software-related tasks within our CMATS environment. The ideal candidate will be a technical/field support specialist with experience in developing and delivering training materials within this domain.

Responsibilities

  1. Conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to determine training and assessment solutions.
  2. Designing training management and curriculum information.
  3. Developing training materials, facilitating training development and preparation activities.
  4. Authoring and supporting internal reviews of relevant training material and customer documentation.
  5. Undertaking delivery of technical training.
  6. Ensuring suitable procedures and practices are engaged during technical training delivery.
  7. Providing professional advice on technical documentation and training matters to the Thales CMATS Senior Technical Instructor.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in delivering technical training in the areas of networks, hardware, or software.
  • Prior experience in performing technical troubleshooting and resolving operational or simulator system hardware or software issues in a time-critical environment.
  • Working as part of a team in complex, technology-based projects.
  • Prior experience in working with commercial IT infrastructure.
  • Intermediate level skills in MS Office Suite of Tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to working to aggressive and fixed schedules.
  • Australian Citizenship or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent formal training/education qualification.
  • Qualification in engineering (hardware, software, IT, cybersecurity, networking), recognized Tech Cert or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the Thales CMATS Training Manager.

Desirable

  • Prior experience working with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Identity Management (IdM), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
