Your Role as HR Business Partner

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our People and Performance team in Queensland. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse leadership group across various operational areas, including processing, farming, distribution, and corporate functions.

This position offers a hybrid work model, primarily based at our processing site, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week. Occasional travel to nearby sites will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple locations to provide guidance on people-related issues, including employee relations, performance management, leadership development, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Lead negotiations for local enterprise agreements and nurture constructive relationships with unions.
  • Assist leaders in managing employee relations, including conducting thorough workplace investigations.
  • Coach and mentor leaders to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Support governance initiatives and work towards standardizing and simplifying HR processes.
  • Identify and address talent and organizational development needs, working with the broader team to implement strategic HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to enhance the capabilities of frontline leaders.
  • Oversee the local implementation of HR processes, including performance reviews and succession planning.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the People and Performance team by promoting open communication and seeking constructive feedback.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in recruitment efforts to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business priorities and align HR initiatives to support these goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in HR business partnering within a large, complex operational setting, supporting a diverse workforce across multiple sites.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace relations legislation and frameworks.
  • Experience in a unionized environment, with a track record of leading enterprise agreement negotiations and fostering productive union relationships.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, establish trust, and influence a variety of stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in advising on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Capability to develop, implement, and embed new processes and policies in a complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with remote stakeholders.
  • A degree in HR or a related field is preferred.
