About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications and Marketing professional to lead and shape our communications efforts at the City of Yarra.

This is a new role within our structure, and we are looking for someone who is innovative and creative and wanting to have an impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Strategic Direction and Advice: Oversee the planning and execution of integrated internal and external communication strategies to support the City of Yarra's goals and objectives.
  • Lead Reporting and Performance Tracking: Develop and implement effective reporting and performance tracking mechanisms to measure the success of our communications efforts.
  • Build and Manage Relationships: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality and tailored strategic communications.
  • Oversee and Contribute to End-to-End Communication Campaigns: Develop and implement comprehensive communication campaigns to engage with our community and promote the City of Yarra's initiatives.
  • Proactively Identify Emerging Issues: Develop communication strategies and messaging to mitigate reputational risks and ensure the City of Yarra's reputation remains strong.
About the Team

You will lead a team of communications and marketing specialists on channel strategy development, content creation, and coordination for our external channels.
