Job Description

Job Title: Strategic Development Lead for Positive Ageing and Reablement

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Development Lead to join our team at Wyndham City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of programs and services related to Positive Ageing and Reablement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to address the changing needs of the community and the sector.
  • Lead the provision of advocacy approaches and specialist advice to enable the development of a strong service system for Wyndham's older residents and their carers.
  • Facilitate and collaborate on operational and strategic planning for the Unit, ensuring it aligns with Council's overall strategic position.
  • Report, monitor, evaluate and analyse performance of programs and services making recommendations for future service provision in line with Council's strategic direction.
  • Provide leadership support for a small team.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma course in public policy, social sciences, or related field with several years of subsequent relevant experience.
  • Specialist advice and advocacy approaches to enable the development of a strong service system for Wyndham's older residents and their carers.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of integrated service delivery, community development and person-centered practice.
  • Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from clients, members of the public and other employees in the administration of broadly defined activities and to motivate and develop employees.
