Key Role Overview
The Injury Management Specialist plays a critical role in the proactive and effective management of injuries and return to work plans within an organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement specific early intervention strategies to manage escalation of injuries.
- Develop, maintain and monitor return to work plans ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Establish and effectively maintain accurate injury management and return to work records.
- Provide specialist coaching and advice to the workforce regarding injury management and early intervention.
- Referral for assessment, initial treatment and follow up of injuries including providing specialist advise to leaders and teams.
- Monthly reporting on injuries, progression and key issues relating to injury management and return to work.
- Develop, maintain and manage corporate health programs aligning with industry best practices.
- Maintain an effective relationship with key stakeholders both internal and external ensuring smooth communication channels.
- Effectively manage and ensure compliance with health monitoring schedules for employees.
- Ensure completion of annual workplace injury reporting as required by regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Return to Work Coordinator qualification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a Health/Injury management role in a similar industry is essential.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently are required.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and requirements related to injury management and workers compensation is essential.
