The role of a Senior Bid Manager is to lead and manage large bid teams in securing winning and profitable bids. This position involves managing all aspects of the bid process, from initiation and planning to submission and post-submission activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Consult on the application of project management principles and expertise to the management of bids.
- Manage all stages related to bids, including initiation and planning, solution definition, content development, response consolidation, team reviews, quality control, management review, authorization, package and deliver, post-submission, administration, bid revisions, bid award, win/loss review.
- Manage bid resources to facilitate the development of appropriate deal strategies, solution and service architectures, commercial models, and delivery/service management plans.
- Ensure that the organization's risk exposure on all bids is understood, documented, communicated to all stakeholders, and appropriately addressed/mitigated.
- Keep an auditable trail of all bid artefacts and records on recognized company systems.
- Ensure that each bid is subject to the requisite team and management reviews prior to client submission, complying with company corporate governance.
- Communicate accurately and timeously with all stakeholders and take responsibility for communications being received and understood.
- Facilitate the sourcing of general bid collateral from authorized owners in the business.
- Create a set of standard templates for less complex bids.
- Review all customer requirements to ensure they are met in the proposal and collaborate with various parties to include necessary information within the proposals.
- Track the Tender/RFP process and record keeping of strategic dates and information to be provided/presented.
- Extensive experience in a bid management role in a technology system integrator or similar organization.
- Strong experience with managing, coordinating, and implementing the bid process successfully.
- Advanced demonstrated experience researching and collaborating with subject matter experts to write and edit compelling proposals customized to client needs.
- Advanced knowledge of all elements contributing to bids, including geographic scope, solution scope, service scope, and commercial complexity.
- Business and financial acumen.
- Excellent attention to detail and high-quality work.
- The ability to utilize key systems and tools related to bids.
- The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across all functions.
- Advanced knowledge about the industry, including competitors and market trends.
This role requires a Mid-Senior level professional with a background in sales and business development, specifically in IT services and IT consulting.
