
Strategic Business Development Lead

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the strategic function for a team, focusing on selling and delivering customised business solutions and partnerships that drive client results.
This position will work closely with sales, digital and product teams to generate demand and create market-leading pitches by leveraging insights, assets and brands from across the portfolio.
- Lead a cross-functional team consisting of strategy, solutions and insights functions to create valued business partnerships and proactively identify business opportunities for clients.
- Collaborate with the sales, digital and product teams to generate demand and create market-leading pitches by leveraging assets from across the portfolio that deliver on client's business objectives and priorities.
- Develop a deep understanding of client's business drivers to address these needs through strategic advice, data and insights.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction, taking action to build relationships with relevant internal stakeholders and externally with clients and agencies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience within the media, advertising, publishing or marketing industry.
- Substantial experience in media strategy, planning and execution.
- Understanding of how to lead a team with an eye for talent and ability to identify development opportunities to grow the skills of others.
- Experience in client and category business planning, sales strategies, market pitching and securing revenue and increasing market share.
- Experience developing end-to-end, strategic commercial solutions and partnerships that drive revenue.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships internally and externally.
- Capacity to negotiate, problem-solve and overcome issues while maintaining a respectful approach.
- Highly organised with an eye for detail and acumen for numbers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and keen understanding of how to craft and evolve narratives.
