About the Role

Greenpeace Australia Pacific is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Board of Directors. As a member of our Board, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization and contributing to our mission of protecting the environment and promoting social justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to the Board and the organization, ensuring that our mission and values are upheld.
  • Governance: Ensure that the organization is governed in accordance with best practices and that our financial and operational systems are robust and effective.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks that may impact the organization, ensuring that we are well-positioned to achieve our goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including our members, donors, and partners.
Requirements
  • Deep Understanding of the Pacific Region: Have a thorough understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social context of the Pacific region.
  • Strong Governance Experience: Possess relevant governance experience and skills, including experience in environmental or social justice movements.
  • Availability and Commitment: Be able to commit to approximately 15-20 hours per month to effectively contribute to the Board's work.
