Non Executive Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Board of Directors at Greenpeace Australia Pacific. As a Non Executive Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring that we remain true to our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance on setting the direction of Greenpeace Australia Pacific
- Monitor and ensure that our programs and activities align with our mission and achieve their short-term goals and long-term purpose
- Ensure executive performance by setting objectives and performance indicators for the CEO and regularly reviewing his/her performance
- Ensure that we obtain and appropriately use the resources required to carry out our mission and sustain it
- Be satisfied as to the adequacy and integrity of financial and other reporting to the Board and that there are adequate systems of internal control
- Be satisfied that systems for identification and management of risks are robust and appropriate
- Comply with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) Governance Standards
- Deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social context of the Pacific
- Sufficient time to effectively commit to Greenpeace Australia Pacific Board work (approximately 15 to 20 hours per month)
- Experience in Greenpeace, campaigning, and/or expertise in environmental or wider movements
- Relevant governance experience, skills, and availability to be considered in future to become the Greenpeace Australia Pacific Board Chair
- Relevant networks suitable to providing significant value to the Greenpeace Australia Pacific Board as it scales up for greater achievement
