Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Growth Manager to join our team at Business Events Adelaide. As a key member of our Business Development Team, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and development activities to attract new and repeat business to Adelaide.

About the Role

This is a full-time role based at our office in the Adelaide CBD. You will be responsible for planning and implementing business development activity plans to attract new and repeat business to Adelaide. You will also educate and assist the business events market on the benefits of convening a business event in Adelaide and the services provided by Business Events Adelaide.

You will work closely with our team to achieve identified sales goals and activities within an allocated budget. Your responsibilities will include developing and working leads to bid and secure business events aligned to the key economic sectors of the state, identifying and recruiting local people affiliated with state, regional, national and international organisations to hold business events in Adelaide, and creating and implementing agreed specific business development and promotion initiatives to attract business events to Adelaide.

You will manage and maintain client databases, build strong relationships with key individuals and organisations within the business events market, and coordinate with our Director – National Bidding and Events to ensure the effective servicing of groups scheduled or interested in meeting in Adelaide.

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary education, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a sales environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and achieve measurable outcomes underpinned by a robust, 'can-do' approach.
  • Ability to report on own activities and pipeline effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills including ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a base salary of $60,000, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. We also offer professional development opportunities and a dynamic work environment.
