The Role:

McMahon Services have formalised their focus on customers. By doing so, they have elevated customer needs and solved problems ahead of promoting their capabilities. This customer-centric approach has led McMahon Services to be aligned under Customer Streams to better respond and solve customer problems.

The Strategic Growth Leader is a critical component ensuring the ongoing success of the customer stream approach, tailoring content specific approaches to McMahons customers, prospective clients and the tendering process.

This is an exciting prospect for a senior level candidate who has a strong background in tendering, marketing, and communications. This role will provide the successful incumbent the ability to showcase creativity, innovation in new cutting-edge ideas for tendering and marketing and further being a leader in Australia's construction market.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Manage the Tendering and Marketing team, ensuring they have resources and direction needed to successfully support tenders across the business.
  • Develop team skills in tendering, marketing, and communications to improve proposals, marketing, and brand reputation.
  • Provide training and development to upskill the wider business in each Customer Stream, to successfully position and tender new works.

Strategic Planning and Customer Development:

  • Collaborate with Customer Streams to help formulate and execute strategic plans that align with long-term objectives.
  • Help map existing customers to improve knowledge, enhance relationships, and improve serviceability.
  • Assist in mapping new customers and develop engagement plans.
  • Analyse market trends and customer feedback to adapt strategies that meet customer needs and industry demands.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across Customer Streams to ensure a cohesive approach to market and customer development.

Tendering:

  • Oversee and refine the tendering process, enhancing accuracy, consistency, and impact across the organisation.
  • Implement best practices and harness technologies to streamline and improve tendering collateral and submission quality.
  • Leverage technologies to improve tendering quality; investigate what organisations are leading in communications and proposals to learn and adapt into the business.
  • Improve the manner in which McMahon Services communicate and negotiate proposals through presentations.

Marketing and Strategic Communications:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that increase brand visibility and market penetration through media channels and direct to the customer.
  • Craft and manage strategic communications that reflect aspirations and align with customer values and expectations, enhancing engagement and support from key stakeholders.

Corporate Communications:

  • Lead all aspects of internal and external communications, establishing a consistent and influential corporate voice that resonates with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Establish a unified voice across all communications, reinforcing the brand as a leader in the construction industry.
  • Produce targeted messages that resonate across various audiences, including internal teams, clients, and industry partners.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in tendering and bid management, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications role, marketing manager, or related disciplines.
  • Extensive experience in developing strategic engagement and communications programs.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and managing multiple internal and external stakeholders/clients.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to deliver to tight timelines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Knowledge of communications and marketing via social media to effectively target relevant audience.
  • A current driver's licence is essential, and a reliable vehicle is necessary.
  • You must be willing to obtain a White Card and undertake necessary site inductions as required.
