Auto & General is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Consultant to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional with strong procurement and contract knowledge, analytical and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in delivering competitive advantage to businesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Proactively undertake research and analysis of relevant markets to identify new opportunities/providers that may help deliver Auto & General a competitive advantage;
  • Liaise with internal team members to identify high performing and innovative providers in relevant markets;
  • Explore and facilitate opportunities to establish 'test and learn' initiatives that may lead to new and improved business outcomes and capabilities;
  • Perform procurement focused activities, specifically relating to Sourcing and Selection of appropriate suppliers;
Key Performance Indicators
  • Deliver commercially 'best practice' approaches to undertaking and closing negotiations with new and existing providers;
  • Work with Executives and relevant support team members (Legal, Regulatory and Operations) to ensure targeted providers deliver a fit for purpose solution that delivers on the businesses objectives;
  • Ensure providers are performing at acceptable levels and identify performance and capability gaps (skills, workload capacity, geo-coverage) in the panel and work with stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions;
  • Address systemic or long-term performance issues and, if necessary, recommend and manage the exit of poor performers.
About You

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Commercial role, strong procurement and contract development experience, sound understanding of the general insurance sector, and experience in preparing formal documentation, including contracts, business cases and reports.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines in a complex and rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated ability to multitask and work on multiple activities in a fast-paced/dynamic environment.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including extra leave days, paid parental leave, workplace giving, development opportunities, employee discounts, reward and recognition, onsite facilities, and more.
