Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team at Auto & General. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing business, where you will play a key role in driving commercial success.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills. As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing relationships with existing providers, and developing strategic partnerships that drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Legal, Risk and Regulatory, and IT teams;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute business strategies that align with company objectives;
  • Provide commercial support and advice to ensure successful delivery of projects and initiatives;
  • Identify and address performance and capability gaps within the provider panel, working closely with stakeholders to develop solutions and implement improvements;
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial role, preferably in the general insurance sector;
  • Strong procurement and contract development experience, with a proven track record of negotiating and closing deals;
  • Sound understanding of the general insurance market, including regulatory requirements and industry trends;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
