About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pricing and Cost Control Specialist to join our team at Auto & General. As a key member of our Commercial department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our pricing catalogues accurately reflect market conditions and group strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will support the Commercial Manager Pricing in managing inputs, standards, pricing rates, and quoting practices associated with the AGS building price catalogue.
  • You will ensure all building prices and rates are up-to-date and only approved rates are deployed in the catalogue.
  • You will actively monitor market rates and ensure the AGS pricing rates are competitive and based on agreed benchmarks.
  • You will calculate the impact of pricing updates.
  • You will continuously monitor usage and adherence to agreed quoting methodologies and catalogues in line with specified governance approaches.
  • You will identify and report on non-compliance activities and trends from service suppliers or internal staff.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • You will ensure appropriate reporting is available on PBi to assist Home C&A Leadership in effectively managing building cost outcomes and managed builder performance.
  • You will establish standardized cost benchmarks that enable effective performance analytics.
  • You will link with Strategic Commercial to ensure reporting supports AGS's building cost control strategy.
  • You will actively monitor submitted network builder rates vs AGS's approved rates to ensure adherence to agreed commercial terms.
  • You will collate industry data and builders' submitted rates for quarterly review.
  • You will conduct file reviews and provide feedback through agreed channels to identify performance and process improvement opportunities.

Commercial

  • You will contribute to the teams' activities, in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders, develop and implement appropriate supplier management and assessing strategies that result in the company's overall objectives being met.
  • You will contribute to developing and implementing advanced commercial techniques to leverage value creation opportunities.
  • You will contribute to developing systems and tools to monitor and manage contract deliverables, service levels, and commercial outcomes.
  • You will develop strategic sourcing or supply process improvements projects within category management as required.

About You

  • You have 3+ years of construction cost data and market knowledge.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in applying construction practices and codes in Australia.
  • You have 2+ years of general insurance industry experience.
  • You hold tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, and Cost Engineering (highly regarded).
  • You can report/communicate information to stakeholders at all levels from frontline to senior executives.
  • You understand risk culture and how these frameworks could apply to this position.
  • You understand basic procurement and supplier management practices.
  • You have proven analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • You have excellent attention to detail.
