Lead Infection Prevention and Control Initiatives

As a senior nurse with expertise in infection prevention, you will drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective infection prevention strategies across our healthcare facility. This role requires strong leadership, clinical acumen, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

You will collaborate closely with department managers, clinical staff, and external stakeholders to ensure best practices in infection control are upheld. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive infection prevention plans
  • Providing regular updates and education to clinical staff and Medical Officers
  • Chairing and coordinating the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees
  • Conducting data collection, surveillance, and mandatory reporting to health authorities

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in infection control
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments
