Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) initiatives in a dynamic healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and community through effective IPC strategies.

  • Lead the implementation and evaluation of the IPC Program, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted solutions.
  • Provide regular updates and education to clinical staff and Medical Officers on best practices in infection control.
  • Chair and coordinate the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Collect and analyze data, conduct surveillance, and submit mandatory reports to health authorities, driving evidence-based decision making.

About the Role:

The Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive infection prevention strategies across the hospital, aligned with national guidelines.
  • Providing timely updates and education to clinical staff and Medical Officers, enhancing their skills and confidence in infection control.
  • Collaborating with department managers and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of best practices in infection control.

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in IPC or a related field
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in infection control, with a strong understanding of local and national regulations
