**About the job**
The Procurement Lead - Corporate Services** **has a critical role as part of the procurement team in partnership with relevant business units and third-party suppliers to provide cost-effective, high quality and reliable sourcing solutions. The solutions must meet national requirement for assets, goods, and services as well as customers’ commercial needs and expectations.
This is a 3-month engagement reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Identify the category strategy and a rolling programme of areas to be addressed within the procurement category
- Deliver the procurement category strategy, including sourcing activities that generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through insight and analysis of category and subcategories areas, including
- Analysis of procurement spend and supply base to establish suppliers per procurement category and sub-category
- Analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends
- Identification of internal and external cost drivers in the categories
- Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure that service, quality, added value, total cost, security of supply, and the deployment of the supplier’s capabilities in innovation are secured.
- Reduce and maintain a low-cost base across the entire business through the management of strategically planned contract negotiations, supplier management, demand management activities, and supply chain initiatives.
- High level of stakeholder engagement at all levels and senior business stakeholders across the business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and develop Strategic Supplier Management Plans where required
- Interact and work closely with the Procurement & Business Unit teams to drive SRM and Sustainable and Social Procurement
- Use a strategic understanding of the global marketplace to reduce costs
- Provide highly specialised knowledge of procurement matters and be a reference point for complex procurement matters over one or more categories
**Experience**
- Proven experience in high-value and complex strategic sourcing within a large organisation across several categories.
- Proven experience in supplier relationship management within a large organisation across several categories
- Experience achieving procurement solutions within a global marketplace, with international stakeholders and business partners
- Significant experience with market-focused analytics and strategic positioning that has resulted in sustainable competitive advantage and growth of shareholder returns/value
