Parts Sales Specialist

We are currently seeking a self-motivated person to join our Parts Estimating Team.
Reporting to our Inside Sales Manager, you’ll be part of a close-knit team. You will positively contribute to achieving our annual Aftermarket budget by preparing and managing quotes, promptly responding to our customers for parts and technical enquiries and successfully winning orders for our products.
This role will be primarily focused on Screw and Reciprocating Compressors in Australia and New Zealand, however, may also cover other compression products and/or areas.
What needs to be done?
- Develop sound relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Responsible to ensure prompt and accurate responses to customers for parts and technical enquiries
- Proactively managing the Aftermarket parts sales process, from enquiry through to customer order.
- Evaluation of customers’ technical and commercial requirements to ensure correct and on time supply of equipment.
- Obtaining competitive quotes for relevant parts from other Howden Business Units and/or approved vendors.
- Processing of spare parts quotations within clients’ required timeframes.
- Requesting necessary engineering drawings when required during the quotation process.
- Updating and maintaining accuracy of CRM and ERP systems.
- Liaising with customers to negotiate initial contract terms and conditions.
- Ensuring customer orders reflect the agreed terms in Howden’s quote.
- Actively seeking new leads and opportunities to promote and sell Howden products or services.
- Liaising with Howden’s product group and global sales teams and production facilities to clarify technical details and price information for spares or replacement equipment required by our customers.
- Work closely with all internal Howden stakeholders, including our Order Fulfilment Team, Site Service Delivery Team and Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Product Business Units and Finance Team.

You are an exceptional communicator with a professional can do attitude. You will have the tact and diplomacy required to communicate and cooperate with different Howden companies around the globe. You will have a respect and appreciation of different cultures and communities.
You’re confident working both independently whilst also being a valuable team player. You have high attention to detail, display advanced time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
With your solutions orientated approach and client centric attitude, you’ll successfully manage and maintain existing customer relationships, and build and develop new ones.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data and perform accurate pricing calculations (pricing, margins, exchange rates)
- Experience working with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft AX)
- Experience working in an aftermarket sales or spares environment
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- High level of PC literacy, especially MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
The following would also be highly regarded:
- Prior experience of Howden products
- Engineering/Technical qualifications (classroom or vocational)
- Prior experience dealing with demanding customers and differing priorities.
- The ability to proactively identify opportunities to enhance effectiveness, streamline activities and procedures, overcome obstacles and to utilise resources more effectively.
