Scientific Administrative Officer

**Job Description**:
An excellent opportunity is available for a Scientific Administrative Officer to join the Chemical Biology Division, New Medicine and Advanced Technologies Theme at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the Position

The Scientific Administrative Officer is situated within a scientific division and works closely with and reports to the Division Coordinator. The key function of the role is to carry out vital administrative and organisational tasks for the Theme Leader and Division Head(s), and the Division’s research staff with the aim of providing a high level of efficient service and support. This position provides administrative support to maximise the time that the division’s scientists can spend on their research.

The Scientific Administrative Officer will assist the Division and Theme Coordinator to ensure that the division runs efficiently by providing administrative support, including document preparation and management, meeting coordination and support, data entry, laboratory management, and office organisational tasks.

Selection Criteria

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Sound secretarial and administrative experience.- Good written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Administrative and/or business experience in a medical research or academic environment would be advantageous.

Personal Qualities:
- Proven aptitude to work as part of a team and independently.- Excellent attention to detail.- Proven ability to manage time effectively, working on multiple tasks concurrently.

Terms of Appointment

This position is available for 2 years in a full-time capacity. Salary is Research Support Employee Level 5 ($76,566- $87,947).

Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available
