The Opportunity

Join Australian Genomics as a Business Administrator and become a pivotal force behind our groundbreaking initiatives You'll work hand-in-hand with the Managing Director, engaging with partner institutions, managing sizable grant budgets, and crafting vital research collaboration and funding agreements. Your role will also involve providing top-notch executive administration support to the MD.

Your responsibilities include

In consultation with the Managing Director, prepare and manage grant budgets and disbursements
Provide internal MCRI financial support for Australian Genomics, including but not limited to paying invoices, arranging funds transfers, and managing credit card reconciliation, in collaboration with MCRI Financial Operations
Populate, distribute and manage research collaboration and funding agreements, letter agreements and multi-institute agreements in consultation with MCRI Legal and senior operations personnel
Coordinate the recruitment and on-boarding of new employees in collaboration with Human Resources, in addition to overseeing HR requests (leave, contract variation etc)
Provide administrative support to meet the needs of the Managing Director including:
event and stakeholder relationship coordination
editing and formatting business documents
preparing presentation templates
Coordinating meetings and minutes of advisory boards and committees
Other support duties as necessary to support the Team e.g. providing coverage and support in times of leave and absence

**What we need from you**:
5 + years’ experience in a similar role with experience working at an executive level
Experience in managing budgets and coordinating the preparation of agreements/documents
Well-developed communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal) and the ability to liaise effectively with a broad variety of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to think strategically and independently in order to forward plan and monitor future priorities
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently to plan, coordinate and organise projects
