**About the company**

This busy Local Government authority based in the southeast suburbs are looking to engage a HR Business Partner. This position is initially contracted until 30th June 2023 & could lead to longer term opportunities. You will be working alongside other business partners in the organisation support the local government with any HR enquiries. The council have numerous projects happening in the HR department so you will also have the opportunity to support with project work.

This position is to start ASAP. The organisation offers a flexible hybrid model.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Act as a Business Partner float, providing specialist support across the organisation in conjunction with the other Business Partners
- Support leaders with strategic activities such as workforce planning, business planning and team culture development.
- Provide accurate and specialised advice given to all levels including senior management on Council Policies and Procedures, the EA and relevant legislation.
- Improve, develop and/or implementation of People and Strategy policies and procedures.
- Support with HR projects as required

**You will have the following**:

- Tertiary qualifications in HR or other related field and several years’ experience.
- Sound understanding of employment law and relevant legislation.
- Experience in delivering contemporary, solutions-focused HR initiatives that are consistent with strategic objectives.
- Understanding of and the ability to research, develop and implement policies, procedures, programs.
- Sound knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements and HR Policies and Procedures.
- Highly developed analytical and investigative skills.
- Understanding of the legal and political context.
