The OC Head Office Campus is located in Port Melbourne, with additional campus in Melbourne CBD. OC delivers VET (Vocational Education Training) courses at various Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) levels in addition to the English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS). We are looking for a well experienced and proactive HR Officer with demonstrated work experience

**Key Responsibilities**:
The HR Officer will be responsible for the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs, as well as managing all HR processes for the whole employee life-cycle from recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, and training and development initiatives. through to exit.
- Develop job descriptions and advertisements for the positions
- Conduct all reference checks and background inquiries on prospective employees
- Develops and maintains relationships with recruitment agencies
- Coordinate all on-boarding tasks required as a part of new employee commencing.
- Preparing and updating HR & employment related documentation, contracts, position descriptions, employee handbook etc.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed by new and existing employees
- Coordinate training and development activities for existing staff
- Keep individual training files up to date
- Manage grievances and disputes between employees
- Maintain knowledge of relevant employment legislation
- Work closely with management and staff to ensure harmonious working environment
- Assist in the development of performance management plans
- Coordinate and conduct performance and Development Reviews and adhoc
- Identify areas for improvement and ensures arrangements to deliver training and development accordingly
- Develop, implement and update HR policies and procedures in line with the legal and regulatory requirements

**Qualifications and Experience Required**:

- Completion of a qualification in Human Resources or related field
- Proven experience in HR role
- Knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience preparing employment contracts
- A basic understanding of the Australian requirements for employers around visas
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with low to medium level performance management issues

The role is based in Port Melbourne, with car parking available on site, however there will be requirements to visit the Melbourne CBD as well as Hobart CBD campus, as and when required.
