**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Division of Women, Youth & Children provides a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary health services to children, young people, families and women in the ACT and surrounding regions. The Division provides family centred, multidisciplinary services at Canberra Hospital and in Community Health Centres, client homes, schools and Child and Family Centres. These services include:
Women’s Health Service

Maternal and Child Health Program

School Team - High School Immunisations and Health Checks

Children at Risk Health Unit

Community Paediatric and Child Health Service

Reporting to the Administration Manager, this position contributes to the daily support of Women’s Health Service, both back and front of house. This role requires a high level of time management skills with an ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.

**DUTIES**:
Under limited direction of the Administration Manager and working closely with the Clinical Nurse Coordinator you will:

- On a monthly and annual basis assist in obtaining data collections in relation to Child Health Targeted Support Services.
- Communicate and liaise effectively within the team, with management, clients and other key stakeholders regarding complex, sensitive client queries/complaints or other business of Child Health Targeted Support Services.
- Exercise independent judgement on routine matters and assist with more complicated matters under professional supervision, decreasing as expertise increases.
- Monitor and manage the flow of all correspondence, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Undertake tasks and initiate action to ensure the timely response to requests for information.
- Participate in the organisation as appropriate and the implementation of clinical governance activity, quality improvement projects and administrative processes to effectively provide a service.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:
Desirable:
Ability to type with speed and efficiency.

Hold a current driver’s license.

Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.

Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.

Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

- Proven experience and proven ability in providing high level administrative support including the ability to exercise initiative, possess good analytical skills, prioritise workloads and achieve goals autonomously.
- Well-developed communication and liaison skills with the ability to prepare correspondence, reports with a high degree of accuracy and knowledge of record management procedures.
- High level keyboard skills and extensive experience in the use of a variety of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and database development.
- Proven ability to be an effective team member, including both internal and external teams.
- Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, work, health and safety (WH&S) and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful and kind.
