Chief of Staff, Maritime Australia

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Maritime Division is developing unmanned systems for subsurface and other domains that will leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of long endurance, multi-mission capability to our customers. Our division is truly global, with teams and contracts spanning across Australia, the US, and the UK.
We are seeking an individual to support the Maritime Australia team as Chief of Staff. This role is perfect for a versatile, analytical, big-picture thinker who thrives on connecting the dots between manufacturing, engineering, people operations, business development, and a myriad of other operational aspects to achieve global excellence. The ability to build trust quickly in a fast-paced environment and execute with high dependability is critical to success in this role.
This position will be part of the global Division Operations team within Maritime.
**What You'll Do**
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Australia general manager, providing strategic counsel and support on all matters pertaining to the business line
- Use your quantitative and qualitative skill set to lead strategic initiatives and projects as directed by the Head of Division Operations, ensuring they align with the division's goals and priorities
- Identify areas for process improvement and drive change management efforts
- Facilitate the decision-making process by analyzing data, coordinating information flow, and ensuring communication clarity
- Coordinate and prepare for executive leadership meetings, including setting agendas, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-through
- Project manage across many stakeholders —if you don't like being the person leading meetings with large groups of people or managing large Slack channels to wrangle stakeholders towards a solution, this may not be the role for you
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in operations at an early-stage start-up, consultancy or similar
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
- Proven track record of being self-driven and relentlessly proactive. You don't wait on others to solve problems, you proactively step into the gap to propose solutions yourself
- You lean into acknowledging your weaknesses and take the idea of feedback and growth seriously
- You're both high ownership and low ego, approaching everything with strong outcome orientation and high humility
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
