Main duties and responsibilities

Responsibility 1:
Client Care


  • Prepare meals following clients' prescribed dietary restrictions and the Balanced Care Method.
  • Change bed linens, wash and iron laundry, and clean clients' homes
  • Conduct basic errands, such as grocery shopping.
  • Provide companionship to clients in a caring manner.
  • Incorporate aspects of the Balanced Care Method into your clients' care (e.g., go for a walk, visit the local senior center, play a board game, initiate conversations about daily planning, social ties, calmness and purpose).
  • Provide transportation services.
  • Maintain a detailed record of services provided and clients' current conditions.
  • Assist clients with ADL care, which includes bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and transferring.

Responsibility 2:
Judgment and Risk management


  • Actively participate in quality improvement and risk reduction activities
  • Maintain updated skills in First aid training and manual handling techniques
  • Observe client and take notes if client's status or health changes
  • This position requires personal judgment and tasks to be performed from a range of techniques, systems, equipment, methods or processes.

Responsibility 3:
Occupational Health, Safety & Well-Being


  • Comply with all safety guidelines and promptly report hazards or injuries
  • Actively participate in injury prevention and injury management programs

Responsibility 4:
Communication


  • This position requires skills in oral & written communication with clients, other employees and members of the public.
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical and respectful behavior and teamwork at all times in accordance with our core values and code of conduct
  • To effectively communicate with your supervisor any other internal or external persons involved in Client care.

Responsibility 5:
Administration, Equipment and Documentation


  • Maintain a detailed record of services provided and clients' current conditions.
  • Validate your ontime arrival and departure for every shift utilising electronic smart phone system.
  • Alert your supervisor about major changes or incidents during your work.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Manual.
  • Maintain your working schedule and alert your manager of any planned absence.
  • Provide adequate notice for availability. The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.

Personal attributes

  • Competent in written language and writing observations in a client binder/clipboard
  • Able to relate to others, able to empathise with others
  • Professional approach and very ethical character, demonstrating ethical decisionmaking in all workrelated decisions including following directions and policies proactively or requiring not more than one follow up communication, and providing notice periods for personal leave, holidays and cessation, of up to 2 weeks or sufficient time for Employer to find a replacement for shifts in your roster which are with vulnerable clients (whichever is the shorter notice period).

  • Positive approach to change.
  • Must have an attitude of excellence toward policy compliance and duty of care compliance. This is essential in order to pass the probation period and also maintain the job longterm.
