About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Compensation Claims Assurance Manager to lead and manage injury recovery and compensation services for a diverse and essential workforce. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, driving consistent claims management processes, and supporting individuals through effective injury recovery and return-to-work programs.

As a leader, you will guide a specialist team, fostering their growth and delivering superior service to key stakeholders while maintaining the financial integrity and sustainability of compensation schemes. This is a unique opportunity to work with an organization committed to excellence and continuous improvement in claims management and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a specialist team to deliver consistent and high-quality injury recovery and compensation services.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members, ensuring their well-being and performance align with organizational objectives.
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, monitoring their achievement and fostering a culture of accountability and inclusion.

Claims Management and Service Delivery:

  • Oversee the management of complex injury recovery and claims processes, including both employee and volunteer claims.
  • Ensure accurate claims cost estimation and facilitate timely payments within delegated authority levels.
  • Manage permanent impairment and dependency claims, offering strategic advice and recommendations where necessary.
  • Coordinate actuarial assessments by preparing accurate data and insights related to compensation schemes.

Return to Work and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strategies for safe, early, and sustainable return-to-work/return-to-life programs for employees and volunteers.
  • Maintain relationships with external agents to ensure service-level requirements are met and service delivery is optimized.
  • Provide education and training to internal stakeholders to improve understanding of injury recovery processes and their roles in claims management.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting:

  • Review and innovate internal processes to enhance decision-making and service delivery.
  • Generate and analyze claims data, providing insights to internal stakeholders for process improvements.
  • Contribute to organizational reporting by delivering timely and accurate data and commentary.

Key Attributes and Experience

  • Proven experience in claims management, injury recovery, or a related field, ideally within a high-volume or diverse workforce environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth understanding of legislative requirements related to compensation and claims management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide insights from data.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
