We are seeking an appropriately experienced Lead, Compensation Management for this full-time, permanent position based at Doncaster. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Senior Manager Recovery, this role responsible for delivering expert advice and leading the development and implementation of best practice strategies for managing claims related to work-related injuries. The aim is to enhance operational efficiency, improve the experience of injured employees, and reduce associated costs for Ambulance Victoria. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Lead, educate and coach a team of Claim Coordinators to build a cohesive and collaborative team
- Lead the representation of the organisation in providing technical expertise and management of conciliation and other dispute management processes
- Lead a collaborative approach with key internal and external stakeholders-including WorkSafe Victoria and Ambulance Victoria's Authorised WorkSafe Agent-to strategically develop, implement, and report on effective claims management strategies
- Undertake project and portfolio responsibilities to drive continuous improvement of organisational performance through leading collaboration with key internal stakeholders, AV's authorised WorkSafe Agent and WorkSafe in accordance with AV's strategic objectives
- Develop and review compensation management policies, procedures, and reference materials to ensure they are current, legally compliant, and aligned with organisational requirements

**About you**
- Proven leadership and experience in WorkCover and Compensation management, providing advice and oversight in relation to strategic claims and injury management
- Sound knowledge of relevant ethical protocols, legal considerations, medical terminology, and confidentiality in accordance with the relevant legislation such as the WIRC Act 2013, and FOI Act 1982
- Experience in dealing with complex recovery pathways, in particular supporting employees with a changed workplace capacity
- Demonstrated stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
