Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Compensation Manager to oversee the entire compensation cycle, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the full compensation cycle for all employees – ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of compensation systems, records, and reporting processes.
  • Leading compensation audits and collaborating with external auditors.
  • Resolution of complex compensation queries with clarity and confidence.
  • Partnership with Finance and HR on compensation reconciliations and reporting.

Transformation & Improvement

  • Leadership of compensation transformation projects, including system upgrades and process redesign.
  • Identification and implementation of automation and digitization opportunities.
  • Development of clear, streamlined compensation procedures and documentation.
  • Integration of compensation seamlessly with broader business systems and processes.
  • Benchmarking operations against industry best practice and driving improvement.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, tax, superannuation, and employment law.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and assessing their impact on compensation.
  • Implementation of robust controls and risk mitigation measures.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring of compensation team members to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Act as the compensation subject matter expert (SME) across business projects and initiatives.
  • Building trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • Clear communication of change, bringing stakeholders on the transformation journey.

About You

  • Proven experience in end-to-end compensation management within a complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, industrial instruments, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering compensation process improvements and/or transformation projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence and lead through change.
  • People leadership experience, with a focus on coaching and developing others.
