Gateways Support Services vision is to help provide support for children and adults with a disability and their families to maximise their quality of life.

We are currently seeking 2 Recreation Leaders, for a part time position located at our Thomson Rd location in Geelong.

**The role**:
The Recreation Leader will provide person-centred supports within a wellness and reablement framework, which builds independence and supports participants' choices and lifestyle preferences.

You will work under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator(s) to provide a range of recreation programs and camps to children and adults with disabilities.

Duties will include driving the Gateways Support Services buses and vehicles during scheduled program times and allocating the participants to staff based on ratios and support requirements. You will also support team members and volunteers to follow person centred and active support practices and actively support participants to meet their goals and the broader goals of the program.
- During School Holidays, Recreation Leaders must be able to commit to a **minimum of 3 days per week**.
- During school terms, Recreation Leaders must be available for weekend shifts, Friday evening shifts and other times as negotiated. **Hours are negotiated with successful applicants, but minimum requirement is 1 shift per week (Approximately 6 hours) **plus opportunities to Lead and assist on Recreation Camps.
- High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to self-reflect.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills verbal, non-verbal and written.
- Demonstrated experience supervising support staff in a Disability Services (or similar) environment.
- Proven capacity to contribute to building a team, focused on high quality service.
- Experience in developing a range of quality recreational activities.
- Certificate IV in Disability or Community Services (desirable).
- Commitment to teamwork and accountability.
