Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Executive Officer. This leadership position will play a pivotal part in driving the organization forward, overseeing strategic initiatives and operational management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide authoritative advice to stakeholders and lead advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational fishers and anglers across Victoria.
  • Manage financial, governance, and reporting obligations, ensuring seamless organizational performance.
  • Drive delivery of the Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with government stakeholders.
  • Build partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing interests.
  • Oversee staff and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Represent the organization publicly, engaging with media, stakeholders, and community groups.
About You

We're looking for a visionary leader who can combine policy acumen, financial expertise, and organizational management skills. As our ideal candidate, you will bring:

  • A proven track record of advocating and influencing government, industry, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management, governance, and reporting within a not-for-profit or member-based organization.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to drive results-oriented initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
  • Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex issues, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of recreational fishing, which is highly desirable but not essential.
