We are seeking a visionary leader to drive the strategic direction of our organization.

This is a rare chance to lead the peak body for recreational fishers in Victoria, working closely with a passionate membership base. You will be instrumental in advancing the interests of one of the state's most popular pastimes, ensuring its protection and growth.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of advocating and influencing government, industry, and community stakeholders.
  • They will have experience in financial management, governance, and reporting within a not-for-profit or member-based organization.
  • A strong leadership style, organizational, and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to drive results-oriented initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
  • Prior knowledge of recreational fishing is highly desirable but not essential.

About This Opportunity:

You will be responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives and operational management, ensuring seamless organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative advice to stakeholders and lead advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational fishers and anglers across Victoria.
  • Manage financial, governance, and reporting obligations, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Drive delivery of the Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with government stakeholders.
  • Build partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing interests.
  • Oversee staff and contractors, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organization publicly, engaging with media, stakeholders, and community groups.
