Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Executive Officer. This leadership position will play a pivotal part in driving the organization forward, overseeing strategic initiatives and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide authoritative advice to stakeholders and lead advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational fishers and anglers across Victoria.
Manage financial, governance, and reporting obligations, ensuring seamless organizational performance.
Drive delivery of the Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with government stakeholders.
Build partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing interests.
Oversee staff and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Represent the organization publicly, engaging with media, stakeholders, and community groups.
About You
We're looking for a visionary leader who can combine policy acumen, financial expertise, and organizational management skills. As our ideal candidate, you will bring:
A proven track record of advocating and influencing government, industry, and community stakeholders.
Experience in financial management, governance, and reporting within a not-for-profit or member-based organization.
Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to drive results-oriented initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex issues, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge of recreational fishing, which is highly desirable but not essential.
