Leadership Opportunity in Recreational Fishing

This is a rare chance to lead the peak body for recreational fishers in Victoria.

  • Strategic direction and operational management of VRFish are required.
  • Lead advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational fishers and anglers across Victoria.
  • Provide authoritative advice to government stakeholders.
About This Role

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Proven ability to advocate and influence government, industry, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management, governance, and reporting in a not-for-profit or member-based organisation.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage across diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities

As the leader of VRFish, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing financial, governance, and reporting obligations.
  • Driving delivery of the VRFish Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with the State Government.
  • Building partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing.
  • Representing VRFish publicly, including media, stakeholder forums, and community engagement.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Knowledge of recreational fishing is desirable.
