VRFish seeks a skilled and experienced professional to provide strategic leadership and operational management of the organisation.

  • Lead advocacy efforts on behalf of recreational fishers and anglers across Victoria.
  • Provide authoritative advice to stakeholders, including government and community leaders.
  • Manage financial, governance, and reporting obligations.
  • Drive delivery of the VRFish Strategic Plan and Funding Agreement with the State Government.
  • Build partnerships, sponsorships, and networks that advance recreational fishing.
  • Oversee staff and contractors, supporting a dedicated team.
  • Represent the organisation publicly, engaging with media, stakeholders, and the community.
About You

We're looking for a leader who can combine policy expertise, financial acumen, and organisational management skills.

  • Proven ability to advocate and influence stakeholders in government, industry, and community sectors.
  • Experience in financial management, governance, and reporting in a not-for-profit or member-based organisation.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and project management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage diverse groups.
  • Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Familiarity with recreational fishing (highly desirable).
