Join Cafe Lighting & Living, a vibrant leader in wholesale furniture, as our next Business Development Manager We're seeking an ambitious, energetic Business Development Manager who is experienced to lead growth, enhance brand recognition and drive initiatives to strengthen our market presence. This role is an exciting opportunity to build meaningful partnerships, enrich client portfolios, and drive sales strategies that shape the future of the furniture and homewares industry.

The Role

As our Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying and developing new commercial opportunities across trade, wholesale, and large scale residential and commercial projects. You'll work closely with our Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to deliver tailored solutions and grow our client base.

Key Responsibilities
:

  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to grow our B2B wholesale client base.
  • Research, Identify and develop new business opportunities with retailers (both brick-and-mortar and online), designers, and commercial buyers.
  • Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with existing and new partners and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with buying and marketing teams to align strategies and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Attend industry events and networking functions to represent the brand and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with marketing on Sales & EDM strategy to create tailored solutions that resonate with our clients.

Qualifications & Skills
:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the furniture, interiors, or wholesale sector.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of business development experience required.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Insightful understanding of the furniture retail landscape and industry trends.
  • Results-focused approach with strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in buying and marketing to achieve company priorities.
  • Australian work rights required for this position.
  • Strong understanding of commercial projects, trade relationships, and procurement processes.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and confident working independently.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
