About CMV Truck Centre

CMV Truck Centre is a large on highway Truck Dealership based at Cavan in modern premises. Kenworth trucks have dominated the heavy-duty truck market in Australia for many years and are the market leading brand. DAF is a modern technologically advanced European truck, manufactured by Paccar, who are the parent company of Kenworth trucks.

We are part of the CMV Group, a South Australian family-owned business which has been operating for over 90 years and now employs over 2,000 staff across South Australia and Victoria.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to expand and deepen their knowledge by overseeing and supervising a dedicated team of talented supervisors and technicians. You will be responsible for managing the daily workflow in an efficient and precise manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be a safety leader within our business
  • Assist the Service Manager in implementing WHS standards and procedures
  • Assign and dispatch repair orders to the most appropriately skilled technician based on priority and completion time
  • Monitor and follow up work progress for each technician to ensure completion on time to the customer
  • Maintain a productive working environment within the service workshop
  • Assist technicians with diagnosis of difficult repairs
  • Regularly liaise with the Service Manager and ensure any concerns are brought to attention
  • Maintain clear and open communication between technicians and service advisors
  • When able, actively carry out productive service and/or repair work to assist in achieving maximum productivity of the Service Department

Skills & Experience

  • Previous supervision skills / experience, preferred
  • Experience as a Heavy Vehicle Technician with required trade certificate / qualification

  • Current HR licence

  • High level of problem solving / diagnostic skills
  • Excellent ability to impart acquired knowledge to both technicians and apprentices
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer aptitude in Excel and Word
