About Us

Our client is a leader in delivering high-end fitouts, complex refurbishments, and specialist construction projects across the commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education, and retail sectors. With over 30 years of experience, they've established a reputation for quality across South Australia.

They are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee their workshop operations, ensuring efficient production, plant maintenance, logistics, and material procurement for their projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Workshop Leadership & Operations

    Lead, supervise, and mentor carpenters, labourers, and workshop staff to ensure project objectives are met. Manage day-to-day operations, including production scheduling, asset management, and inventory control. Ensure the timely delivery of quality products and services.
  • Stakeholder & Client Engagement

    Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
  • Quality & HSE Compliance

    Enforce the company's Quality Assurance (QA), Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) systems within the workshop and warehouse. Conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Financial Oversight & Procurement

    Oversee procurement processes, budget management, and stock control. Control operational costs within budgetary guidelines, and negotiate bulk purchasing and service contracts for workshop, warehouse, and site needs.
  • Team Development & Growth

    Promote a positive work culture by providing leadership, mentorship, and performance reviews for staff. Ensure continuous training and development to enhance team skills and ensure consistent quality.
Key Requirements:
  • Trade Qualification in carpentry, joinery, or relevant discipline (preferred).
  • 5+ years' experience in workshop management, construction logistics, or site support.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, plant, and equipment.
  • Proven leadership experience in a regulated industry, with a focus on staff management and operational processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS and QA systems and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and asset management software (experience with digital maintenance or inventory platforms a plus).
  • Forklift and relevant machinery licences (preferred).
