Primary objective

Provide strategic advice, analysis, development and management of policies and collaborative programs relating to student

wellbeing, disability and health to better support schools and improve education outcomes for students.

Context statement

Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services works collaboratively with schools, students and their families to

strengthen a whole of system approach to assist students to develop into healthy, resilient young people who can maximise

their learning opportunities and wellbeing. Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services is part of Inclusion and

Engagement Services, which is committed to ensuring that all students receive an education in a supportive environment

that values diversity, inclusion and participation.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Lead the research, consultation, development and review of policies to provide guidance to schools and key stakeholders.

1. Manage the delivery of national and department-led collaborative programs, strategic projects and funding agreements.
2. Provide strategic, evidence-based analysis and advice on a range of student wellbeing, disability and health matters to

support improved education outcomes for students.

4. Develop and maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders and clients at the local and national levels.

5. Lead a small team of policy and program officers.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Significant experience in leading and delivering strategic and evidence-based policy, analysis and advice.

2. High-level interpersonal and superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write in an informed and

concise manner, tailor messages to targeted audiences, and influence a range of stakeholders.

1. Significant experience in leading the delivery, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of programs, including funding

agreements, and identifying areas for improvement.

4. Demonstrated ability to work independently to a high standard and provide leadership within a small team to complete

strategic tasks within allocated time constraints.

1. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders and clients at the local and

national levels, manage competing views and work effectively with people of diverse cultures.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of wellbeing, disability and health issues affecting children from birth to 18 years of age, and/or inclusive

education.
